Less commonly, “run” might refer to a particular character’s tenure as the lead on that title – say, Wally West’s run as the Flash (pun intended), or Kyle Rayner’s run as Green Lantern. For example, Marvel has published the Bendis/Maleev run of Daredevil as a series denoted as Volume 1, Volume 2, etc., that has absolutely no bearing on the series’ voluming as a whole. (Fun fact: if a particular creator’s run is legendary enough, the company may publish that as a series of numbered volumes. Kelly Sue DeConnick’s run on Captain Marvel, Gail Simone’s run on Birds of Prey, Fiona Staples’ run on Archie, etc. It generally refers to a creator’s tenure on that series, i.e. The best way to explain this is via the comparison to Comic Book Runs, which basically are defined as follows:Ī run is a consecutive string of issues of a particular comic series. This is also exemplified by the aforementioned On Guard 43 canon in which serves as medium in which new guard authors can write their material and canons into The latter is a creation of Placeholder McD and what this is meant to illustrate is that djkaktus's canon is apart of Placeholder McD's own canon. Placeholder McD creating a "canon" known as Admonition, in which SCP-3812, an SCP apart of djkaktus's canon, was mentioned in SCP-6747. As such, there are characters and concepts entirely unique to Project Paragon's canonĪs established above through, "Canons" can even be added to another and composited into one another. An example of a "Canon" in the SCP Mythos would be the iconic Project Paragon, which is a canon created by djkaktus and was created to be related to no other canon. There are many SCP articles and tale that in themselves are apart of a larger narrative, hence the existence of a " Hub", where readers can keep track of what follows that narrative in a smooth and compiled fashion. To answer the question above, a "canon" basically is a continuity within the SCP mythos. Either way, let's just get into this as there's tons to coverīefore we even get into the metafictional stuff, we first have to establish what a "canon" is in the context of SCP Foundation. Of course, it's obvious this is meant to provide a sense of scale to SCP characters who scale to the higher end stuff but that's only a byproduct of this blog. What I intend to go over is the concept of narratives within the context of On Guard 43, whilst also giving an explanation of what it is and furthermore, giving you a rather in-depth look into just how the cosmology under PLACEHOLDER works. Making a full length blog on SCP Foundation's general cosmology is not only hard but arguably nigh-impossible given how many canons there truly are and just how many different cosmologies one would need to go over to truly depict SCP Foundation accurately This won't be a general overview of SCP Foundation's multiverse as opposed to the Meta Foundation established by McDoctorate/PLACEHOLDER, which in itself is apart of the On Guard 43 canon that serves as a "mega-canon" that incorporates many other canons into itself through various means. This is a blog that I've been meaning to make for the longest of time and I figured since I have a ton of free time from other verses, I should make a blog explaining the SCP Foundation cosmology.
